SuperATV is a business full of enthusiastic riders just like you. We don’t do what we do just because it’s our job—we do it because we truly enjoy being part of the off-road community. Our employees’ passion for the lifestyle is evident in the products we churn out. We know what our customers want and need because we’re riding right along with you.

For a lot of us, ATVs and UTVs are part of who we are, both at work and outside of it. To give you a taste of what keeps SuperATV employees busy when they’re not on the clock, we’re introducing a new series called Ride with Us.

In each installment, we’ll take a look at two employees who have similar or identical machines that have been built in totally different ways. We can’t think of a better way to demonstrate how aftermarket upgrades can overhaul a machine, while also giving you a peek at some of the faces behind the SuperATV name.

So without further ado, let’s kick off our very first Ride with Us by looking at a pair of 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000s and the employees that ride them—Lee Dillehay and Landon Schwartz.

Lee Dillehay—Built for Rocks

Lee is an Outside Sales Rep based in Tennessee. He’s been riding for most of his life, having started on a Suzuki 165 four wheeler when he was only 8 years old. All of his favorite ride spots are close to home—Windrock Park, Brimstone Recreation, and the community of Alpine, Tennessee.

If you know anything about riding in eastern Tennessee, you know the trails can get pretty rocky. Many of the parts Lee runs are a reflection of this terrain. A high-clearance suspension, for example, makes it easier to cross rocks and bumps without getting hung up. His RZR is also equipped with our XT Warrior tires, which hook great on rocks.

Here’s a list of the aftermarket parts on Lee’s machine:

  • Machine Protection
    • Full Skid Plate
    • Heavy-Duty Tube Rock Sliders
  • Suspension
    • High-Clearance Boxed A-Arms
    • High-Clearance Boxed Radius Arms
    • High-Clearance Rear Trailing Arms
  • Wheels and Tires
    • 32” XT Warrior Tires

Landon Schwartz—Brush Buster

Landon is a Shipping Coordinator here at SuperATV. He’s been riding with friends for a few years and finally bought his own side-by-side last summer. He says working at SuperATV has helped him get more involved in the off-road community.

Riding in southern Indiana means riding through lots of woods. Landon’s favorite place to ride is at his uncle’s property, where he spends a lot of time making his own trails. As a result, you’ll see a lot of machine protection on his RZR, like bumpers and nerf bars. Those products make it possible for him to plow through un-cut brush. The bigger tires and added power make it hard for Landon to get stuck or stranded when covering new territory.

This particular build is unique in that it’s been somewhat of a test machine for SuperATV. It was previously owned by another employee, Jordan Stephan, who is a Special Projects Engineer. Jordan has been with SuperATV since 2012. He bought the RZR in September 2013 and used it to try on lots of new parts and prototypes. As a result, this build includes a lot of custom parts that we don’t actually offer—just another perk of being on the inside.

As part of the building process, some of the SuperATV shop guys stroked out the engine to 1200cc. That’s just one perk of having a machine that’s a collaborative effort by multiple SuperATV employees.

Here are some of the SuperATV parts you’ll find on this rig:

  • Accessories
    • Cargo Box
    • Door Bags
    • Hex Cell Grille Insert

Whether you ride over rocks like Lee or through the woods like Landon, SuperATV has parts and accessories that will help your machine adapt. The cool thing about these custom builds is that you can do as little or as much to your machine as you want. Whatever your budget or ride style, SuperATV can help you out.

We also think it’s pretty cool how you can start with two identical machines—like these 2014 RZR XP 1000s—and turn them into two completely different rides, each one catered to the owner’s ride style of choice.

Stay tuned for future Ride with Us articles to see what other SuperATV employees are doing with their personal rides! And in the meantime, we want to know what you would do (or have done!) with your RZR XP 1000. Jump down to the comments and share the details on your own build!
